St. Lawrence's Church Building
Restoration Appeal

S.L.R.A. stands for St.Lawrence Restoration Appeal.  This began back in 1981 for the restoration of the church i.e. the outside sandstone cleaning and general repair work on the church, including the bells. It was found that, 25 years on, this work needed to be carried out again. Thanks to English Heritage and Walsall

Council the refurbishment and the replacement of the perimeter railings (that were commandeered in 1939 for the war effort) were to be administered and replaced with a short fall of 50,000 this having to be met once again with the support from S.L.R.A.  Here once again the talented people of St. Lawrence's stepped forward with their many talents, marmalade making, cards, crafts, social events, donations, and many gifts from in around and even outside Darlaston. We are truly blessed with such dedication.
